NSCS at Bristol race previewThe race for the chase make’s its next stop under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway. Even non-race fans love this track, the combination of speed and side by side racing not to mention the always fun “big one” all this fun is also under the lights. Unlike many other tracks a simple spin here can mean the end for more then just one race team. There are three drivers that could find them selves on the other side of the chase standing by Sunday morning. Denny Hamlin who finished a miserable 39th last week will need a good race to keep his Chase hopes alive. With only a twenty-six point’s separating him from 13th place (Clint Bowyer and Davis Ragan are tied) he will need to stay out of trouble and make sure there is enough gas in the car. If you remember back in March Denny had the lead with less then five to go, but a lack of fuel caused him to slip to sixth. He will need another run like that or better to stay up in the top twelve. Chance of winning 10%
Davis Ragan looking to make the chase in his second fulltime year he is coming off a great finish last week and will look to build on that. This might just be bad timing for the young driver as he has never finished higher then 21st at Bristol. Look for the team to struggle early, but if they can avoid the wrecks and keep it gassed up David has shown he can run with the top drivers on the circuit. I look for a good run somewhere in the top fifteen. Chance of winning less then 5%
